Germany is officially known as the Federal Republic of Germany that consists of 16 states while the capital city is Berlin. It is the most influential nation in European Culture and known in the world in its precision engineering and high – tech products. Most of Germany has a temperate seasonal climate that results to winter that can be very cold and summer is very hot.

Germany is a popular tourist destination on the European continent. Modern cities, historic architecture, nightlife and more attractions draw many tourists. German culture is defined by its major cities within its smaller states. Every city has its own traditions and history that gives tourists an opportunity to explore on their remnants.

In the capital, The Berlin Wall is a crowd drawer; it boasts contemporary arts and nightlife in the finest architecture and museums in the world.

Frankfurt am Main is a city with the largest financial centre in Europe. It has the tallest skyscrapers on the continent with Commerzbank Tower being the highest of them all. The best museums and classic architecture in the Hesse region centers around the Schaumainkai with 15 museums surrounding it

Munich is at the south of Germany, the country’s beer capital along with its Octoberfest celebration. The state of the art headquarters of BMW’s car maker, the gothic churches and the castle in Old town are just some of the enchanting tourist attractions of Munich.

Hamburg is a city that is popular for its historic architecture. St. Nikolai Kirche was the tallest building in the world when it was completed in the 19th century, and the ruins are a landmark of Hamburg. Most visitors head to the Speicherstadt area, where old warehouses developed with shops, and offices as part of a larger project called HafenCity.

What to Eat?

German food has a typical dish that consists of meat with some form of potatoes and gravy accompanied with vegetables and salad. Modern cuisine has been influenced by European countries like Italy and France. When you are in Germany, try their famous food like Schnitzel, spartzle, beef with gravy.

Hasenpfeffer – a peppered rabbit or hared
Himmel und Erde – blood sausage, potatoes and apples
Weiner Schnitzel – a breaded cutlet of veal pan fried
Kartoffelsalat – a German potato salad made with oil and vinegar
Bratkartoffen – onions and bacons mixed with friend potatoes
Sauerkraut – a sour cabbage that is pickled soup
Baumkuchen – means tree cake, a layered cake dubbed as King of Cakes
Rote Grutze – serve with ice cream and raspberry puree
Schwarzwalter Kirschtorte – a chocolate layered cake that is served with cherries and cream

You can get around just by speaking English because their schools are required to teach English. Some German phrases would do for some important transactions.
