You have heard the great reviews of Dubai from friends and family who have been there.Yet you still hold, there is too much fanfare and it’s not worth the hype. You think it is a ploy by travel agencies and airlines to ramp up sales.
If these and other negative thoughts cross your mind, get prepared to be blown away. As the plane prepares to land you get an aerial view of the city. An excursion of Dubai will be on your mind once you land.
The Burj Khalifa
It wouldn’t be a trip to Dubai without visiting the marvel of man’s technological advancement, would it? Standing at a jaw-dropping 829.3m this building is the tallest in the world. Sight-seeing from the top is the most exhilarating thing you will ever experience. It feels as if the earth is a distant planet away. There is a great view of the gulf and in low tides, the shores of Iran can be seen. Magical is the word to describe the view from the observation deck at the top of the tower.
Desert safari
Once a view of the modern advancements is done, a desert safari tour is in order. There is a choice between using a camel and powerful 4x4s. Whatever rocks your boat, I can guarantee the safari will be nothing but exciting. The 4×4 tour vehicles are nothing but stomach churning. The drivers will drive fast over the desert sand and drop into high sand dunes, leaving a crazy adrenaline rush. What’s more, you can get a sand skiing adventure. Sound crazy right? I’ll give you that it’s bonkers but the thrill can’t compare to anything else. The camel ride is slow but scenic, seeing the sunset in the desert is one of the most beautiful things you will live to see.
Underwater zoo & aquarium
Have you ever seen divers feed a live shark? Well if your answer is no, prepare your eyes and mind. Nothing comes close to describing how awesome the experience is. A trip to the underwater aquarium will leave you wowed at Mother Nature’s beautiful creations. An 11-meter walk on an underwater tunnel gives you a 270-degree unrivaled view of the aquarium. You get to see rare and exotic animals such as seahorses, piranhas, penguins and many more sea creatures. In case you’re feeling courageous, an opportunity to feed the sharks beckons.
Palm Jumeirah and the world
There are simply no comparisons the world over to these islands. Why do you ask? The reason is they are man-made islands. You see Dubai had a problem with expansion. So, in their eccentric nature, they decided to create islands from sand and rock. To up the ante, they decided to shape the islands in a palm shape. As if this was not enough they decided to create new islands these times in a globe shape. Yep, you read that right, so you have all the continents respective shapes on islands. Amazing comes close to describing what the islands are.
And finally…
The sights mentioned above do not scratch the surface of what is on offer once you visit Dubai. Seeing is believing and that could be the closest way to describe Dubai.
