Where’s a better place to go this summer than holidays in Mexico. There’s so much to do, you’ll be spoilt for choice. We all know Mexico is renowned for amazing food and lively festivals, which makes for an ideal break.
Things to do in Mexico
Out of all the Mexico attractions, a good place to start would be the centre of the town where all the architecture is situated. A famous attraction is the ‘national museum of anthropology’. You don’t want to spend a huge amount of time here, especially if you are travelling with young children. Remember Mexico reaches very hot temperatures, especially during the summer. Mexico tours in city are usually walking tours so don’t forget to slap on the sun cream and drink plenty of water!
Beaches upon beaches!
There’s so many to choose from, 6000 miles worth in fact. Golden white sand lapped by crystal waters, with the occasional palm tree where you can cool off under. What more could you ask for? Some of the most popular beaches are situated in Cancun, as they are a short distance from the down town area. ‘Playa La Gosta’ and ‘Playa Las Perlas’ are popular tourist areas. However, if you’re looking for a more quiet atmosphere, the ‘secret beaches’ such as the ‘Riveria Nayarit’ are remote beaches where you can escape the excitement. You may want to consider car hire to get to the secret beaches.
After a long day tanning at the beach, a Mexican feast at a local Mexican family restaurant seems like the best idea! Taco’s and wraps are sure to be a hit with the children. Indulge in all types of sea foods from giant shrimp to fried fish, and not forgetting chicken and beef enchiladas, burritos, just thinking about it will make you hungry! All washed down with refreshing tequilas and Mexican beverages.
Kids activities in Mexico
Now for the kids! Mexico is surrounded by coastal areas which makes it perfect for water sports like jet-skiing, scuba diving and snorkelling. The Mayan Riviera is the 2nd largest coral reef in the world so you might want to visit there for your best water sport experience.
Going to the Mexican carnival will surely complete your holiday experience. All year round they celebrate all types of events independence day, day of the dead, holy week and many more. The most famous carnival areas are Vera Cruz and Mazatlan, but it is celebrated all over the country. The Mexico nightlife is also amazing.
